After graduating from Mount Holyoke College and a stint in Washington, DC working on Watergate research, Susan Arnold taught in West Hartford, CT, pursued her Master in Music Education with Kodaly emphasis, and made a Ford Foundation movie, Music in Our Schools. After a break to raise two children, she returned to teaching at Worthington Hooker School, New Haven’s most diverse school representing 35 countries. She collects songs, dances and traditions from families at Hooker and has traveled to places as diverse as Dubai, Israel, Argentina, Singapore, Japan, and Inuit villages in northern Canada. Worthington Hooker School is a HOT School (Higher Order Thinking) which includes a strong, integrated arts program.
