Sharon Thompson

Sharon Thompson is a native of North Carolina, she earned music degrees from Limestone College and the University of South Carolina. During her career as a music educator, she has taught at every level from elementary school to college. She currently teaches at Draytonville and Corinth Elementary Schools in Gaffney, South Carolina. She taught music for several years at the public school in Husavik, Iceland and was choirmaster for the local Lutheran church. She worked for five years as a music therapist with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. As a soprano soloist, she has appeared with a number of choirs, orchestras and opera companies throughout the U.S, England, Iceland and Korea. She has been a regional winner in the San Francisco and Metropolitan Opera Auditions. Her devotion to music education can be seen through conducting and serving as music director for numerous churches during the past thirty years.
