Robert D’Angelo received his M.M. from the Yale School of Music and his B.M. from Western Connecticut State University. He has taught at the University of Bridgeport, Western Connecticut State University, the Neighborhood Music School and is currently Director of Bands at Pomperaug High School in Southbury, Connecticut. He was chosen as the 2001 Teacher of the Year for the Pomperaug Regional School District #15. In 2000, his band members’ parents started the D’Angelo Scholarship for seniors continuing their education as a music major.

 

A percussionist, his extensive performance experience includes the New Haven, Waterbury, Bridgeport, Ridgefield and Stamford Symphony Orchestras; Broadway, Oakdale (Chevrolet Theatre), Goodspeed Opera House, the Ice Capades, Barnum and Bailey Circus and recordings (classical, jazz and pop). Mr. D’Angelo has also performed at the Hartford Stage Company, Town Hall (N.Y.), the American Place Theater (N.Y.), as well as various jazz and commercial engagements throughout the Tri-State area.
