Montpelier, VT

Pam Dunkling grew up in rural Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont, receiving a degree in music education. After 15 years of teaching, she returned home and has taught at East Montpelier Elementary since. Pam strives to inspire children to find joy and passion in music. Throughout her career she has instructed marching, pep, and jazz bands, as well as choruses. Her philosophy of inclusion results in lively teachers’ and parents’ bands. She works with teachers to integrate music, the arts, and academics creatively. Additionally, she co-founded the Green Mountain Fife and Drum Corps, directed Vermond Children’s Folkkids trip to Russia, and coordinated Windows to the World, an international educational travel program for youth. Music is important to her grown children, Megan and Ryan, who also live in Vermont. Pam’s interests include singing, reading, walking, snowmobiling, motorcycling, racing, traveling, and family.
