Kristen Walter resides in Hendersonville, NC with her husband Steve and their two young sons. Since her arrival in Western North Carolina, Ms. Walter has been actively involved in making community music through conducting, singing and teaching. Ms. Walter is often a featured vocal soloist in both the Carolinas and Florida, has taught music at all levels and has directed several church choirs. She is currently the conductor of The Hendersonville Chorale, the founding director and conductor of The Hendersonville Children’s Chorus, the music teacher at Sugarloaf and Dana Elementary schools, and a teacher for the SC Suzuki Institute at Furman University. She is a certified Orff teacher, and a member of MENC, NCMEA and NCAE. Ms. Walter earned both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Choral Music Education from Florida State University.
