Helen Demong graduated from the Crane School of Music, and is the choral director for the Saranac Lake High School Concert Choir and Men’s & Women’s Vocal Ensembles. These groups have performed at our nation’s Capital, the National Gallery in Ottawa, and traveled to Siena, Italy to perform and premiere an original work by Glenn McClure. Demong has been a presenter on development of strong music programs at the NYSSMA Conferences and a guest conductor for All County Music Festivals.

She is noted for working with guest artists to deepen the roots of the musical arts in her rural district.

Brian Mann of North Country Public Radio recently stated: “Over the last three and a half decades, Demong built Saranac Lake High School's choral program into one of the most ambitious and accomplished in Upstate New York.”
