Edward Henderson

Edward (Ted) Henderson is a cellist/classical guitarist with a Masters Degree in Music Theory from the University of South Carolina currently teaching General Music with an emphasis on music technology in Columbia. His academic interests include the music of Franz Schubert, Anton Bruckner's works for symphony and reception history, and Schenkerian analysis. Ted was accepted into the Doctoral Program in Musicology at Florida State University in 1997 but deferred admittance to teach music at a critical need school district at the Department of Juvenile Justice where is still currently employed as a National Board Certified Teacher. During his tenure at SCDJJ, Ted has been awarded various grants to assist in funding music technology initiatives and artist-in-residence programs with a recent focus on West African Drumming. When not teaching music to adjudicated youth, Ted likes to spend his free time traveling and transcribing the guitar solos of Jerry Garcia.
