Amy Ross has been teaching at Miami Middle School for 19 years. During this time she has expanded the curriculum to include vocal music, guitar, piano, exploratory music, music history and show choir. She is in the process of developing a music production class with two in-school recording studios. Mrs. Ross has developed a course in the History of American Popular Music which focuses on the development of blues and jazz. Her show choir group, The Miami Sound Machine, has traveled to music festivals and competitions throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Mrs. Ross received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and her master’s degree from Michigan State University under Dr. Charles Smith. Amy is active in the community in both theater and with the Fort Wayne Ballet, where she still dances in the Nutcracker every year! Amy lives with her husband and three children in Roanoke, Indiana.
